I loved the Sonnar C 50/1.5 and Biogpn 35/2 I used to own.
But I can't think of a single reason to buy a Touit.

Obviously because the reviews are saying that the Zeiss 32 auto focuses quieter than the Fuji 35, and since they are fixed focal length lenses....they dont zoom....
Of course back in the day when I was looking for a Panasonic 20mm lens everyone was moaning about how loud the lens focused, and when I got mine I thought they must be nuts because it was no rock concert next door and any video guy worth his memory card will tell you focus first then push record.
Regardless it would seem sales of this line of lenses is DOA, and the new Touit macro just seems more of the same going up against the killer Fuji.

I must be one of a handful that own the 32/1.8 Touit in the XF mount. Focus noise was definitely quieter than the 35/1.4 Fujinon. IQ difference is a mixed bag. The Touit was just about as sharp at infinity as it's minimum focus, a characteristic of the orthodox symmetrical Planars. The Fujinon had a slight edge in overall IQ from portrait range to infinity but the Fujinon was definitely softer than the Touit at distances under 3 feet until about f/4 where they are both similar. Color saturation is a tad punchier with the Touit and I prefer the Touit's slightly wider angle coverage. Of course the Fujinon is 2/3 stop faster, plus for low light. If you're a fan of Planars or Summicrons, it's worth a look.

Zeiss made the mistake of sending out Fuji review copies in stead of Sony E-mount. Result: everybody compares it to the Fuji 35/1.4, while it would be better up against the Sony 35/1.8. Well, it is no crying over spilled milk, I'm tempted but still on the fence - big reason: everybody compares it to a lens I can't use....
Anyway, most reviews mention it is nosier then some other lenses and that it is less suiteable for video. But then again, if you're doing video seriously, why do you keep your microphone close to the lens??

I thought I would get one as a reward to myself after something special ... But the more I read, the less reason I could see to buy one. The biggest reason was the SIZE of the beast. One of the great features of the X series is the size and weight with the quality....

I wanted the 32 Touit. I really did. In the end I sold off a few things that I was not using and because of the price I bought the Fuji 35, but I am not getting along with it very well in the last 2 months I have had it.
The auto focus performance is truly awful. I dont understand how it could be so crap, especially in this day and age. Old auto focus SLR's from the 80's and this lens on the XE1 feel about the same. Ok in good light, horrible in low light or with anything that is remotely moving.
I also dont care for the colors this lens gives off. They are very muted and dont seem to go well with my eye. But a problem that I was very surprised to find was the horrible purple fringing that the Fuji 35 suffers from. That was a real shock!
The lens is a decent lens, but its image rendering is very "Japanese" and that is a problem I have had with Nikon and Canon. I have been spoiled by Zeiss and Leica optics and the rendering qualities of those lenses.
In time I will probably sell this lens and get the Touit I should have got in the first place, or get that Sony A7R because I dont know if I can excuse the auto focus performance of these Fuji cameras.

I'm waiting for my free Fuji XF 35 to arrive so the comments above are a little concerning. Any other users (X-Pro1) like to comment? I only have the 18 at the moment and find focusing perfectly acceptable in all light. Is the 35 worse than the 18?
