This info may be helpful for Leica and others interested in our group as it could provide justification to satisfy market forces (you) by bringing about new products or services. Tell Leica and others like it is. Opinion is power!

Leica has plenty of new products IMO, you just have to sell a kidney to buy them.
I bought my M6TTL through a dealer. Looked new but probably used.

Based on the present results of the poll, Leica should make more used products.

No M8? I bought both my M2 and M8 used. There's absolutely no way I could afford to buy a new Leica lens or camera body.

I'd love to buy a new Leica but can't justify it when there are people around who sell them after a year or two. It's like cars...

I bought all three Leicas I have used. They were all in very good condition for immediate use except the Barnack Leica III which had some problems with the slow speeds, even though I made my all time favorite shots with it on the first two test rolls I run thru it on 1/30 and 1/40 and before I CLA'd it.

Bought my M7 essentially brand new.
The seller replaced the covering to a Cameraleather cover and then couldn't sell it.
Got it at a bargain price, warranty card not filled out, original box, and strap still in plastic.

I don't expect the poll results to change much and suspect the vast majority would continue to vote bought used. I have 3 SM bodies and 2 M bodies all bought used. The price of new Leica gear puts it in the nose bleed section for me and is just unjustifiable as a purchase. In short, new Leica gear is very nice stuff but I can and do live without it. I think Leica knows this already and have managed to stay in business regardless so far. I wish them the best of luck too.

M3, M2, M4 (since traded away on RFF), MDa; all second-hand.
Poor M8... why leave that off?

Just this guy, you know?
I have bought two new cameras in the past decade, and many used ones. One of those new cameras was a dSLR, the other a 4x5. Neither was ridiculously expensive in any way like leica cameras.
Used cameras cost very little if resold. If you lose something, think of it as rent. If you gain something, think of it as value added.

Just got my M3 delivered to me yesterday. I don't have any M-lenses yet, but I just bought a Tele-Elmar 135 on ebay yesterday.
I have a couple of LTM lenses and one M adapter I can use until I get some M lenses.

I bought a IIIa to use with my FSU lenses. Then my daughter and son-in-law bought me a nice IIIf with an Elmar 50/35. Cost was a major factor, but I also like the small size and simple design of the Barnacks.

I got a M2, used, and with a big hole where the left strap lug should have been.
