Did you buy your Leica new/used? What type?

Bought a used (BP in mint condition) MP this year for almost double what I spent on a brand new M6 TTL in 2000.

New Leica's are just too expensive for my budget.

Bought 2 used M4s, 2 used M6 and a New/Used M8.2 from Leica. The M8.2 was a Leica Reps demo that Leica updated and sold to me with a new warranty. Jim

All my Leicas were bought used. I have not been into photography long enough, nor had an income large enough to buy them new. BTW, we're talking about 2 M6TTL, 2 M5 bodies, 1 M4-2 and 1 M3.

Now, I did buy only once a brand new Leica lens: a Summicron 50mm in black... which I use very little! 🙂 Oh, well... As mentioned above, Leica should follow the jeans manufacturer strategy and sell used gear along with the new one. 😉

M3 first Leica--used. MP, M6, M7 used. Ala carte M7 new. Still have M3, M7, and ala carte M7.

I got my M6 ttl for $1500. Quite a bargain compared to the price of a new camera at the time. I think it was about $4500 at the time for a new M7 or MP. Buy from a dealer and you have a guarantee that it'll work (I bought from KEH).

Went through M3, M4, M2 and M4-2 in that order and all used. Until I can save up some cash for a MP, the M4-2 will have to do for now. I wish I can buy new, but the $$$ for a new Leica is rising faster then my pay 🙁

Minolta CLE (1x) It's M-mount, right?

M5 (1x)
M6 0.85 classic (1x)
and sold them all with a profit, currently still own my M2 and M3

Bought new:

M8
and sold with loss, eager to get rid of it.

I've kept the used market very busy over the past decade, both buying and selling. Not quite enough selling 😉

Bought my black paint M4 in december (my first Leica and my first RF 😀). Used, but hardly. It looked basically new, except for a tiny bit of brassing in the rewind lever and the frame counter bezel. She has a bit more brassing now, but not too much.
Best part is that I got it for the price of a chrome M4 body, and it came with a 35 'lux pre-asph v2 (now sold) and 50 'cron v3 😀
Might get her CLA'd soon. Still L-sealed.

a bit scratch here&there but acceptable, why bought used ?
it's mechanical, live long, and keep CLA 😀

And bought the Leica Mini new.

M6 Classic, used. Apart from a little wear on the paint it feels like it's brand new.

M6TTL 0.58x new (grey market), only because I got it when the Euro was new and the dollar was strong relative to the Euro, and days before they announced the "Last 999" thing that jacked the prices up.

In January 2003, it cost me $1559 with a 1.25x magnifier thrown in. The Motor M was $469. Wow, that was a good deal!
