Did you buy your Leica new/used? What type?

1st M4P, then M6 classic black, MDa chrome and finally M6 Clasic chrome - all used and all beautiful!

M6, two of them, both used, total price less than one new Leica. Actually could have bought 4 of them for less than a new Leica! Used stuff always costs less than new, but Leica's new prices are silly. I've bought three Nikons new, and a Mamiya 645 Super new. Prefer to buy new, but the prices have to be within reason; I do this for a living, I'm not a rich hobbyist.

I bought my M6 used and my M8 used.
My 35mm Titanium Summilux was bought new.

All of my Leica's are used except one. The last Christmas my Dad was alive, he gifted each kid with $2,000. My siblings paid bills. I called Koh's camera and got one of the last M6 .85 classics available.

I bought these used Leica cameras over the years:
M4MOT - M5 - M3 - CL- CL-M6.

I kept the M3 and the M6. Both look to me as if they were new.

M3, M4 and M6 Classic, all used.
M3 and M4 well used but working perfectly, the M6 was the first one and I got it in a box, with all the shabangs, and it looked like brand new. I put an M3 advance lever on it and ended selling it after 2 years because it was so damn mint-ish that I would start being too cautious with it (silly, but still...). So I kept the M4 which has loads of rubs and dings and scratches and I love it 🙂

Bought an M2 and an M6 TTL both used - as were lenses, 35mm Summicron IV and 50mm Collapsible Summicron. Only rangefinder item bought new was a 1,5 50mm C Zeiss Sonnar - S Mount with Amedeo adapter.

Just bought a used M6 a few weeks ago. I wasn't expecting to, but my local shop came up with one on commission at the right price in great condition. I am also saving to buy a new MP or M9.2 in a couple of years, but intentions don't do anything for Leica's bottom line. 😀

All my Leica gear is bought used, if it weren't for the likes of keh and ebay never would I have ever been able to afford anything ( M7 + 50 cron + 35 cron asph )
