In terms of value for your money, I believe the Zeiss, as a new product, has the edge. Now, if you are considering buying used, you may be able to find a good deal with an M7 now that the M8 has made its appearance.
Both Leica and Zeiss lenses are outstanding.
If you have an option to hold both, then that would likely greatly aid your decision.
