Differences Between The Silver And Black Rollei 35 SE

I recently picked up a black 35 SE to go with my silver one and I noticed a difference between the two. On the black one (the serial number starts with 5046 ) there is a locking tab below the aperture dial. My silver one does not have that tab.

Anyone else have the tabs on their camera ? I can't remember reading about the tab in any other reviews or blog posts. All in all I like the idea of the tab as it's easy to move the dial on my silver one and before you know it you've been shooting all day at f4 when you started with f11😡

So it sounds like a feature added during the production run of the SE.

My silver 35S has the tab on the aperture lock too.

According to "Rollei Report 3" (Claus Prochnow), the Rollei 35 SE was produced from November 1979 to September 1981. From June 1980 the locking tab was added. This locking tab could be disabled.
