Hello everybody!

The price of used m4/3 cameras dropped in last few weeks, so i'm probably going to replace my LX3 with an EP-2.
I will get the zoom kit, but beyond that i would like to use all the Leica, Pentax and C-Mount lenses...

Now, getting all the "original" adapters for these lenses is just way to expensive, so I took a look at the adapters available on eBay.

But there are so many!!!

What are you using and should i go for the CV adapter for the M lenses, and non-braned for C and Pentax?

I love the "dreamy" look that older C lenses give, but i would like to be sure that i can focus them right...

Thanks for your suggestions!

as told elsewhere already: i am happy with RJ Camera's adapters (leica M, leica LTM, nikon S/contax, M42, nonelectric 4/3).

Adaptors for my GF1

Adaptors for my GF1

MY first adaptor I bought was a Pixco CY for a Yashica lens, it was cheap and the quaility of adaptor reflected the price.

I have since bought a panasonic adaptor for a Leica D Vario-Elmar

It is a personal choice, I rather spend the additional money for the quality and how it looks on the camera.

I got both the M and LTM mounts in the one purchase. Very nicely finished. Properly tight fit. Major difference with to the expensive VC and Cameraquest adapters is that instead of chromed brass front and back surfaces, the back surface is anodised aluminum. Will this wear down over time? Probably, but not for a very long time. The M mount focused to infinity, but was a little over. So I took the two pieces apart, made and inserted a .003" thick brass shim, and now it focuses to infinity perfectly. Same with the LTM adapter, which is even easier to shim properly. I'm quite pleased with these. The dealer where I bought My E-PL1 saw the adapters and thought they were Leica products. That's how nice the finish is.

Can someone please enlighten me on the whole C-mount to micro 4/3 adapter thing? I just ordered my E-P2 and it should be here next week. I'm still unsure as to whether C-mount lenses will cover the micro 4/3 sensor. Are there any combinations of a C-mount adapter and a C-mount lens that will in fact work?

There are a lot of really neat C-mount lenses out there (I saw an 8mm-48mm f/1 lens for sale!), but if they are all going to cause vignetting or have infinity focus issues, it might not be worth the effort or expense.

Thanks!

It depends on the lens - c-mount lenses were made to cover various formats (16mm/35mm, etc). Some can't be converted without modifying the base (if they can work at all).

Most of those fast short lenses will vignette - some like you shot through a TP roll (but, hey I see a lot of people claim they like it that way, very Noctilux-like).

Here is a SS with some info. A good place to check for user guidance is getdpi.com.
