Difficulty on remove Zorki 6 film counter.

Trying to remove the central collar to release the frame counter ring and winder lever.....
The central collar is a left handed thread. So if you tried to unscrew it by turning it anti-clockwise, you actually tightened it.
I did this to mine. When I finally got to turn it the correct way, I discovered that I was operating against the gear chain in the winding mechanism. This is what gave way in mine.
If it is the threaded ring that you need to remove, you will have some choices to make before you damage the gear assembly.
Ultimately, I cut across the top of the ring, next to the button, giving enough clearance to miss the threaded shaft inside. It was easy to remove then. You will of course, need a replacement......

Yes, that's the collar.
This must come off if you need to get the camera top off.
There are some dis-assembly instructions somewhere on the web. Have a google for them.

That's the correct part on the photo. Try wrapping a thin piece of rubber around it (bicycle inner-tube, for instance). You can also try using a pencil-flame blowtorch on the collar for a FEW SECONDS ONLY before trying to undo it. They can be very stubborn! When you replace the collar, tighten it only with your fingers - no tools - it won't come loose. Every now and then I loosen this part and re-tighten with my fingers, just to make sure it won't sieze up again!

I'm struggling with this as well. It appears that if I turn this, the shaft turns as well and I hear the ratcheting noise. The wind lever appears to slip, too, so I suppose the mechanism is damaged.
Is there any way to open this part anymore?

A one-inch piece of standard 1/2" ID hose from your local
auto parts store, decent hand strength clockwise, and they
come off every time without damage. Same hose will also
get your front RF trim ring off, counter CW.

It's been a long time but I remember this spinning effect. I
think you have to cock the shutter first, but I can't remember
whether it's when taking it off or putting it back on.

Might have to do with putting it back on, though it seems to resist turning that way in any case.
Shutter state doesn't seem to make any difference in clockwise (from the top) movement. Counter, take-up spool and release button all rotate together click by click cw but not ccw. I don't see anything becoming unscrewed when there's nothing to resist the turning. 🙁

If it's turning without coming to a stop, then it seems that the gear train is damaged (as in my case). I drilled a hole in the top casing under the wind lever and tried to jam the gears whilst I undid the nut. This was no good, the gears were damaged nearer to the nut and it still rotated (and sounded like a coffee grinder).
In the end, I used a saw to cut the nut across the top. It's brass, so when it had a good depth of cut I split it in half with a screwdriver.
The suggestion of using heat is good, It would certainly be worth trying this first.
Ultimately, I needed some parts from a donor.
I made a "sort of" mistake in buying a Zenit 3M SLR for the parts as many of them are the same (the entire winder mechanics). I found that I really liked the cranky 3M. Now I've got a couple and the Zorki 6 has other problems....
