Dear Board,
I almost walked into this dude in my backyard last night. He walked in front of me no more than 15 feet away. I tried to retrieve a real digital camera but I fumbled horribly while trying to turn it on and charge the flash so no shots were fired.
B&W trail camera pictures from the wilds of Harrisburg, PA.

^ Tim, if I encountered a bear in my backyard taking a picture would be the last thing on my mind. I'd be to busy getting back in the house so I could change my underwear.
All the best,

Dear Mike,
Trust me, I was pretty surprised to have a bear walk across my path but somehow I managed to stay quite calm. Apparently staying calm worked, because despite slipping back in to the get the camera the bear never acknowledged my presence.
It must have been adrenaline, because when I did go back inside I stood in front of my wife for about 3 minutes before I could even mutter a word! And then I talked for about 10 minutes straight!

While I mainly shoot in color, I occasionally push the boat out and shoot in black and white (or at least convert to black and white). Especially for portraits where it works well. I am less gifted when it comes to shooting other genres in black and white.

I really like how this photo comes together. Great texture and framing, I just like it a lot.

Something about this is dreamlike, though it's sharp and well put together, the textures of the buildings and the water jump out at me as being surreal. I mean all that in a good way, this image makes me feel something.
