I'm in the middle of a walking tour through this thread, which predates my joining RFF, and have been savoring the rich pageant of work in this thread again, anew, realizing with gratitude how much I have learned (and have still to learn) from many of the contributors here, some of whom I am happy to consider friends at whatever distance.

But I also want to catch up in another way: It has been months since I posted anything here--I have been shooting more film since last summer, as well as scanning negatives from the 70s, 80s, 90s.

Nikon D3200
I have shot digital and film since Canon Eos 350D 🙂 As the years go by and the digital sensors is getting "better" - its getting harder and harder to get a natural b&w greyscale from the digital raw-files. The best sensor i have ever used for b&w was the 12mp sony sensor in D5000, D300, Fuji X-A1, Fuji X100 asf.. It was amazing! Now I own the Olympus E-pm2, Nikon D3200 and D600. The D3200 is acceptable, but NOWHERE near the analog film-look I got from the D5000.. I was so sad when I got the D600 and discovered that you CANNOT edit the raw-files into a natural b&w look.. it just looks plastic and "digital".. I hope this trend will not continue the next couple of years or there will only be the digital plastic-b&w look on all digital b&w images!
