The best camera is one that still works!
I think mobiles are more use for video personally .. in an age where everyone is a potential reporter some pretty emphatic footage gets captured on them.

Phones don't just capture the footage (or still), they can edit and publish on the same device. A photojournalists dream really.

Yeah, I don't see many digital cameras when I'm out and about either.
But I see exactly zero film cameras in use.
Smart phones everywhere. Photographers who use real cameras are few. I guess that makes us members of the elite.

Yes. For me, iPhone 6 -> post-process in Snapseed -> post to Flickr.
Very convenient.

Check FB. 99% of pictures are from mobile phones.
Insta is the same.
But I agree on video as well, not only personal use, but I have seen local media reporter using it for interview with dedicated microphone.

Years ago one person posted comparison of video from Canon 5D MKII and iPhone. I ditched DSLRs for video since then

I always forget my phone takes photos because I always have a camera with me. I like having control of my images as much as possible. I just don’t feel that I do when using a phone.

The iPhone I believe has the equivalent of a 28mm lens per 35mm film.
