Digital insecurity?

what does it all matter anyway.

for me, i figure that i'm old enough that film and i will go out together, quietly but noticed by only a few close friends.

stop the incessant bickering and it is bickering.

everyone wants to be right and no one wants to be happy...you can't have both.

my step father died a completely miserable man but by god, he was right about everthing!!

so here, i will resolve this...everyone here is right. you all have the appropriate answer for you.

so stay in your corner, don't poke sticks at each other and try to be happy.

joe

Amazing what a one hour difference in time zones can do. Some 600 kilometers to the east it's pitch black 🙂

I said I use film because that is what I want to use

The key, of course, is why you start threads saying that, or why you start threads casting aspersions on digital users, etc..

Groovy, you "use film" - did you need to start a thread trumpeting that, pointing out perceived flaws in digital, conflating digital users with IT NERDS (subtext: clearly they couldn't understand anything about photography, they're just eggheads looking for something difficult, blah blah blah; ironically this is something artsy photographers might have a tendency to claim about Zone System users and such) then post another thread complaining that some meanie digital users took your bait, etc..

Fact is, no one starts a thread just to inform others of their choice in media - because we all, as rational beings, understand that no one else cares about the minutiae of our daily lives.

...understand that no one else cares about the minutiae of our daily lives...

that really hurts, i care, really i do.
and i hope that others care about my minutiae too.

i use film, hp5 but i'm about to switch to delta because i want sharpness now.
forget low contrast...i want SHARPNESS.

i'm going to make a pot of coffee now...

😉

i'm too lazy and have poor time management skills to use powder developer.

maybe ilfosol s or ddx?

i also like 400 in all the cameras, keeps things simple.

joe

although i do have delta 100 in the zi now...go figure.

Nikki's too young for wine.

And the rule is Wine and Beer in the Hot tub only.

Our pool is on 5 acres, and no line of sight from anywhere.

Found some D76 and Dektol in the basement. I have got to get my Darkroom set back up.

Good evening all.....

Oh oh, and I almost missed the party!

That's what I get for "playing hookey" from work today and going out and shooting photographs (with film - I might add).

Sounds like this has been a nice and civil thread.

Weather here in NYC turned colder again, but I grabbed a mental health day and resumed my "working bicycles" project.

I think one of the major short comings of photographers is that they care more about how an image was made than the image itself. It is the final product that should be important not the process (or the equipment used) by which it was made. Photography should be about images not equipment.

Dang...forgot you and me are in the same "town", more or less. Being a cyclist, I'm curious to hear more about your project.

of course i care about the final image that's why i'm interested in the process that others use to get what they get for a final image.
