For the shots of the pier and the bottle on the beach I used one inversion every thirty seconds (an inversion taking about five seconds). For the window and the church I used two inversions every minute.

Joe, my sympathies. I never did smoke, but viral pneumonia did a smackdown on my
heart, and I've had daily headaches since I was 12 years old. And finally, I have to
agree on the hair color.

This was better than TV, gang!

I have only had the occassional South Afr. wine (e.g. "Goats do Roam"). With so much wine from all over the world these days - even in the larger wines shops it has a hard time competing for shelf space with all the other places.

Heck, today on CNN website they're touting the Hill Country in Texas as the next big wine region.

Overall, I prefer my California Zins, but I've sampled them from all over. Problem is that there just so much wine out and so little time to drink it! :bang:
 
I had a beautiful bottle of Vergelegen Cabernet Sauvignon 1995 yesterday, it was the best year of last century and one of the best SA wines imho, exactly the right age,and I dare any wineproducing nation in the world to do better....

Same with single malts, even if you confine yourself to the scotish highlands only.
 
jaapv: That's interesting, because '95 was probably the best year of the last century for the Niagara (Ontario) region, too, although '98 and '99 (at least for Reds) were also exceptional. The Hillebrand '95 cab franc was truly amazing. A long way from SA!

I haven't dabbled in SA reds yet, but I've had the Brampton sauv blanc and chards and was quite pleased. SA wines have had a hard time coming back from the adulteration scandal of several years ago.
 
Last month I've tried some 1995 Robert Mondavi Zinfandel (Napa Valley), very nice if you likem' old like most of our cameras. Lots of character...
But I would really recommend a great number of Portuguese wines, red mostly.
