I'm working in a project to mount a Lomo LC-A 32mm f2.8 Minitar lens on an Epson R-D1.
I have no idea if it will actually work, but if you are interested you can check it out here:

Interesting project, Jeff. How about a Holga lens for the R-D1?

Yeah that does sound like a great project. Best of luck and post the results!

The Holga may actually be easier to adapt. It may be worth giving it a try.

I have a friend who attached a Holga lens to an SLR body...lots of duct tape (in the Canadian tradition): Holga SLR photoset

It works.
I still have to work out the finer points in regards to setting the exact focal length in regards to the image sensor to allow me to properly focus, but as you can see from the sample shots, it works.

I'm very impressed indeed to see that you have managed to adapt a Lomo lens to an R-D1. I'm sure many of us have thought about it before, but assumed that it was out of the question. And the results that you got are very interesting indeed - I think that your pioneering good work has the potential to bring a new dimension to the digital rangefinder experience.
