Rex canum cattorumque
Does anyone know why digital TTL flashes tend to start overexposing when batteries get low? My best guess is that the pre-flash runs off the batteries (with little capacitor involvement) and that as the batteries get weak, the system sees weaker pre-flashes reflected back and starts thinking that the subject is darker than it is. I've seen this with Nikon, Fuji, Metz and Leica flashes now.
