Digital version of the Ricoh GR camera to be announced!

If the sensor is 4/3 will be great. I dont like the Panasonic sensor. See the new model Z30, high noise at 100 iso!! Maybe the 4/3 in the P&S digicams will be the most interesting point. With the new canon 5D the 4/3 have difficult future...

...I'm really curious to find out what sensor they do go with...either way I hope it can handle ISO1600 (and 3200?)...

Oh well not too long until hopefully ALL the specs will be released.

Those in the US might want to recall that Ricoh doesn't sell cameras here anymore. There will no doubt be importers if there is demand, but Ricoh exited the camera and digital camera markets in the USA some years ago. They sell fax machines and copiers here now.

The viewfinder is optional... Too bad it has a supertiny sensor, this is not the superhighquality camera they said they would come up with, just another digicam made to produce quick $$$

Is it possible that we're confusing OOF effects (also commonly known as 'DOF effects' or 'selective focus' or 'bokeh') with motion blur? This shot (2nd one down) could be done on a small digicam sensor, I believe. Great shot, by the way, love it. But I think we're looking at motion blur, not DOF effects.

Yes, it's motion blur. Probably shot around f4 with a slow shutterspeed. Judging from the shaddows pretty late in the afternoon and outside a desert probably too dark for velvia 50.

May be it's just my twisted mind or the small picture, but the ground is blured from the players shaddow back.

On a second thought, may be it's just the perspective which tricks me here, that's obviously not possible with every P&S camera short of a Fuji Natura 🙂
