i want to trade up my .72 M6 for a .58 M6TTL. My M6 needs a slight CLA to repair the sticky framlines. Would you say it's worth it to get the CLA done before putting it up on sale, or should I just sell it now with the discretion that it'll require a $190 CLA? Do you think it could fetch more than $190 extra if I sell it along with a prove of recent CLA?

What cosmetic condition is it in? If EX+ or better, probably you will get top dollar for a good looking camera that works like new.

If it is 8/10 or lower cosmetically, and works perfectly except the framelines need to be given a push to snap back, probably not worth it. If they do not mind the cosmetics, they probably do not mind the sticky framelines.

I'd rate the cosmetic condition as 8.5-9/10.. However, the sticky framlines is now a stuck framline at 35/135... I just don't want to waste money on a CLA if I can't get that back in my selling price.

I would get the CLA done, & have the later M7/MP VF flare-fix installed @ the same time, as any buyer will inevitably use the frameline problem to beat you down on the price beyond what the CLA will cost (you're not helped by the fact that 0.72 M6's & M6 TTL's aren't exactly rare).

A $190 CLA? Is that in US dollars? DAG charges $285 plus $15 shipping. I don't know anyone who charges $190 to CLA a Leica M, nor would I trust them.

DAG charges $185 for 3/4 overhaul. Don said for as new as the M6 is, a complete overhaul probably is not warranted. I agree, since my camera works perfectly other than the stuck frameline.
