I just by mistake added about 1/3 gallon of water to a mixed jug of fixer that was about half gone. I was mixing new cleaning agent and came back & added water to the wrong jug. So my fixer diluted more than normal. I normally fix for 6.5 min, can I just extend the fix time lets say to 8 min or so. I have no more fixer at home to mix a net batch tonight. Thanks in advance for the answers everyone.

I think that you'll be able to fix your film with the diluted fixer, but it'll take longer. How much longer? After you add the diluted fix to your developed film in the film developing tank, place a piece of film leader (1 to 2 inches) that you clipped from the film before loading it on the developing spiral, in a small container (maybe the cap of your fixer bottle) with the diluted fixer in it. start the timer and agitate your film in the developing tank every minute, and keep an eye on the film clip in the small container. Once the film clip clears, continue fixing the film in the developing tank for the same amount of time again. (2x the clearing time, total) It's easy to see the film clip clear if you submerge only 1/2 of the film clip in the fixer.
