I ordered a -1 diopter lense from B&H Photo for my M8 viewfinder. According to the BH website the M8 uses the same lens as the R8 or R9 and not the same as the rest of the M series. When I got it; it was a lens with no frame and it only had instructions on installing it on an R8/9.

Does any one know if this is the correct lens for the M8 and how it should be installed?

Wrong diopter

Wrong diopter

My shop ordered one for me from Leica and they recieved the same part that you did. That is not the correct diopter for the M8. The M8 diopter comes in a round frame which screws directly into the eyepiece of the camera. The shop says that their catalog had the part misidentified. I finally got one from the Classic Connection in Connecticut. Good luck.

The diopters for the M8 are the same as the other M series ..they are small round discs that screw into the viewfinder . You have the wrong one.
