Disabling the light meter stalk on a CL

I have a Leica CL with a non-functioning light meter and I would like to use one of my Jupiter 12s on it. I believe that I read here or somewhere else that one of the LTM-M adapters would disable mechanism which pops up the light meter sensor on this camera. Which one is it?

I'm not certain that would work.

As an experiment, I put a LTM adapter on my CL and then, with the camera back off and the shutter open, tried to screw my J-12 onto it. It didn't fit. At the moment, I do not recall where the clearance issue was, but it wasn't the metering arm. Obviously, even if it fit perfectly, I couldn't take pictures with it because the metering arm would hit the lens had I advanced the film.

But maybe some Jupiter-12s are different and might fit. Later ones perhaps?

I've often read of CL's meters being repaired and so wonder if it might be best if you ask a technician if he/she can repair it and, if not, remove the meter arm etc?

What David says. It would be a pitty wasting a CL just to try the J-12 on it. Even if you get it to fit, you might have focusing problems as me with the J-12 on my M4-P. Many J-12s need adjustment to get them focus correctly on Leicas.

If I am not mistaken, the 'shutter release' on a CL does not actually release the shutter mechanism. It releases the stalk mechanism. It is the stalk that hits the actual shutter release as it swings into its slot out of the frame. Well, this is what I remember hearing long ago.
