I just received my first Jupiter 12, a ltm, and need to clean oil off the aperture blades and more importantly, the glass forward of the aperture assembly where oil has formed droplets and gathered grime. The lens itself looks good and if I can do this myself, I'd like to try.
Where can I find a good tutorial or thread on proper disassembly of a ltm J12?
Any tips are welcomed, including tool selection. Do I need a lens spanner for this lens work?
I thought to use naphtha (lighter fluid) to flush the glass and blades, which I believe is mentioned as a preferred cleaning fluid for this type work elsewhere on this forum.
Cheers, Eli

You might have better luck looking for a repair tutorial for a Zeiss Jena Biogon lens. The Jupiter 12 is pretty much an exact copy.

here is a site for the J-12 Kiev/Contax mount disassembly.
there will be similarities on the optical side to the LTM version.
I wish someone would post an LTM J12 disassembly/assembly tutorial, great for re-lube jobs.

Thanks for the link. I had seen this but because of the differences in lenses, I didn't want to 'settle' before I asked/looked around some more. I really don't want to screw-up this lens by using incomplete instructions.
A LTM tutorial would be great; if there is anyone out there that's qualified and willing to make one, they could use this lens as their subject, to post a "how-to" here and save me the trouble of working on it myself at the same time.
Anyone...... ?

getting at the aperture blades on the J-12 would be the same as shown in Russ's photos.

Thanks xayraa33, that helps a lot; I thought I read somewhere they were different somehow because of the mounts.
