It has been awhile since we had a thread on grooming, dress and style. We photographers should, after all, be presentable in public, right?;)

After watching the Sartorialist, I visited the following website and am stunned by the New York Shaving Company and the Master Barber requirements!

Yowzah!

Anyone like to post their take on grooming, from hair cuts to shaving to manicures?:) Where do you go? Who do you recommend?

I think the Sartorialist is onto something here...

Have a great haircut - done by Amanda. Great woman doing a University Degree in Signing for the Deaf - has lots to talk about and is bright and intelligent. She cuts my hair the way I like too.

I've done the whole "expensive salon" thing and when it comes down to it, most of the stylists at those salons only specialize in womens hair. Sure, they can cut a mans hair, but it never comes out right.

I now go to an old school barber and I couldn't be happier. He can do any type of haircut for a man and he does it very well - a true artisan. His shop is located in the industrial part of town and it doesn't even have a name, just an address. You cannot simply walk in and have your hair cut. You can only go to him based on a referral. As you can probably tell, he likes to stay low key. :)
