disturbing news about a rff member...

Stewart, you seem well-loved here on RFF. I dont' know you, but I join everyone is wishing you all the best and the speediest of recoveries.

John

Joe, thank you for keeping all of us posted.

My heart was lifted too reading the message from the daughter.

Cathy and Stewart, you and your family are in my thoughts and prayers.

Gil, that was an awesome e prayer

I love this site! Cameras, Camera talk, camera photos and
people who care, some without physically meeting

I'm new here and don't know the person, but it's always great to hear that although someone's had a health scare, they are now on the road to recovery.

Awrabest, Stewart, from another stranger who feels he knows you a little, and esteems that "grouchy northern humour" and your sharp critical intellect (as well as your pics!)

Hope to see you back here soon

Okay Stewart .... heading in the right direction now.
When you get back here please bring your skills for incisive commentary.
No one here has been so good at that !!

Update from Stewart:

I could well be coming home tomorow, weak as a kitten and attention span of a goldfish but felling better on less medication in the last couple of days and greatful for all the kind words here and on rff (bit embarrassing realy)

I'll not be very active for now, too tired to hit the phone's keyboard at the mo

news purloined from elsewhere...

Hi I'm writing for my farther, he has asked me to pass on the message that he is not in any immediate danger. Improving slowly and hoping to make a break for it soon. Thanks for the support, the daughter.

By eck, Sparrow, lad. Tha's gi'en uz a rayt freet ere. Chuffed to ear tha's goin areet nah.

Keep breathin, tha daft wazzock!

Well what can I say ... many thanks for all the kind wishes, for a reserved yorkshireman it's all been a bit embarrassing to be on the receiving end of such goodwill. However it was a great comfort to learn of everyones response through some very dark times a couple of weeks ago

I'm home now, recovering somewhat, and hope to improve further over the next few weeks. Sadly I'm stuck with the condition and I will have a reduced life expectancy because of it. I'll be reliant on prompt action when it flares up and palliative care the rest of the time to minimise the symptoms, I intend carrying on as close to normal as I can ... although I may well be more mellow online now you never know
