so i just recently got bit by the RF bug. It bit hard and fast, and i scooped up the R3M without much hesitation.
Many of you have probably seen my "trade 3M for a 2A?" thread, where i basically learned (with much displeasure) that i should just disregard accurate framing and such.
me being the SLR person i am, i'm having alot of difficulty with that.... as it is, i'm shooting film just for fun- and the Bessa wasn't exactly cheap. Especially considering the pretty decent EOS system i've got going on.

now for the rest of the story:
I miss the ol' 1VHS something fierce. Like- really really bad. It was a friggin animal. A wild beast tamed by canon, and put under my control. I'm shooting a 1D(mk1) now, and i've got a few L lenses that i'd love to put on another full-frame (and film?) camera.

Just found a used and recently serviced 1VHS for $500-
i figure i could probably get that for my bessa and J-8 combo..... am i completly mad?

would there be interested buyers? I just got the camera about a month ago, i've shot probably 15 rolls through it, and it's great. No problems that i know of... but i'm increasingly thinking that i'm just not a RF guy... 🙁

it's a really awesome Canon EOS film SLR.
It hit the market in 2001, and it's probably the last Pro 35mm SLR Canon will ever make. Magnesium alloy shell/chassis, rotary-magnet shutter that only uses power to open/close (none during long exposures), weather-resistant, 10FPS max speed, very awesome camera.

i had one about a year ago (paid a little too much for a user example), and sold it in a pinch- when i shouldn't have. I miss it, and i just found a deal on one.

I love blogs, I can be as stupid as I want. No I am not kidding.
I had no idea what it was either...

You know, just a thought about this R3M thing, why not put it up for trade on this site, if you haven't already got it up for sale? Trades are fun, no cash involved.

I had no idea either what it was, I thought it was one of those digital SLR models... 😉
Obviuosly not, glad you stay with film at least. I do not like big cameras that much, the biggest I have and use is a Mamiya 7 which is somewhat excused for its size since it is MF.

Stay around, maybe you meet the bug again and get a Leica M2 or M3, then you will get a permanent bite by the RF bug..🙂

funny you say that-
I just woke up from a nap, with a slightly different mindset of "do i even need this 1V right now?"... haha
no, i'll probably still get it if my Bessa sells. If you look at my signature, i've already got a pretty decent Canon EOS (SLR) Setup, with a big-honkin 1D (DSLR) as the centerpiece.
Later on, yeah i probably will get another RF- and yes, quite probably a Leica. Although if it were meterless, i think i'd go with a M4, or M4-P... but i've actually found myself drooling over the M6 "classic" from time to time.
