Very interesting! I once had an instructor who was into 360 degree panorama cameras. He made a few test cameras using inexpensive 35mm SLR bodies. His last camera had a machined aluminum bady and used a MF Pentax lens. The film was pulled past a vertical slit by spinning the camera on its tripod mount. The images were made on 120 or 220 film. He had a few prints displayed in his classroom. They were best viewed by rolling the print into a tube and then standing in the center of the roll. These were quite large prints. All in the days before multi mega pixel camera and digital photo printers!

That is quite a project!
Let us know as it comes further along. Looks basically finished, less a few bugs to work out.
Do you focus on a ground glass?
