Not hard. Nobbysparrow (eBay) sells instruction books on how to open the old Elmars. Recommended. Clear text in English and illustrated with many photographs (made by himself) on how to do it.
I had good luck cleaning one out, it was an adventure and I wouldn't do it again (mainly because that part of my mental HDD has been wiped) but it was a good user lens after.
I vaguely remember I've had mine partially disassembled at some point for cleaning.
I seem to recall the rear inner keeper ring unscrews likewise, allowing you to remove the rear element/group.
