Cheap Motel bathrooms make great darkrooms. I've run lots of 4x5 film in Motel 6 bathrooms- you even get ventilation! They never have windows, supply nearly endless hot water, and clean towels. An enlarger in a nice hard case and one could print pretty easily too.

I'll second Markplaats as a good source of darkroom gear. There are months when the doka section is overflowing with Meopta enlargers and trays and everything you could need. Of course, prehistoric chemistry and other consumables are not so useful but you might have to take them anyway !
