DIY Shutter repair for Canonet G-III QL

I recently got a G-III and shot one roll then the shutter stuck. I read in a thread that a DIY fix for the stuck shutter on a Canonet G-III QL is to remove the front elements and use isopropyl alcohol or lighter fluid on the shutter blades. My question is, how do I remove the front elements.

Not sure about the self timer. It is possible that it's causing a problem. Is it possible to fix that if it's the problem.
