OK this is WHY you need HIGH SPEED FILM in this camera. Sinar Norma Handy 4x5 65mm F8 Schneider Super Angulon. TMX400 does push better than HP5+ IMO, although the difference is slight. The central part of the image is well exposed, at the four edges the Cosine Effect causes light falloff. I made this exposure at 1/60 HANDHELD, operating right at the edge of being able to get proper exposure without a tripod. Pushing the film to 800 or 1600 will increase lower light shooting possibilities. Here I got myself into a position where I was boxed in by brush and tree limbs and basically couldn't move.. So this camera is indeed HANDY when you need to get the shot from a cramped position. Neg digitized on Skier 4x5 Box Full Power Sony Nex7 Zeiss Touit 2.8/50M. At this closer-up shooting distance, the lens does cover all four corners, due to the image circle increasing. No corner falloff on this one.

I'd try the Center Filter 65mm F8, it's required to stop down two stops to avoid mechanical vignetting. And adding the Filter Factor, it really only works for me on a tripod. Which can be quick, but not as HANDY. It does even out the exposure across the field, but of course, doesn't sharpen the edges on the field LOL. Actually I kind of like the cosine effect I'm getting, and I can HANDHOLD.

I taped a 4x5 DOF Kodak Master Guide, set to 65mm F8 Schneider Super Angulon on Sinar Norma Handy 4x5 camera. Possible to shoot at F8 with the Schneider Super Angulon. This time Graphmatic Graphic 4x5 loaded with TMax400 push processed to Ei 800, no big stretch. I have Schneider advertisements in the day, which state that the Super Angulon is perfectly good to use WIDE OPEN. Sharp and the extra speed is welcome in some light. Using this camera can be right on the edge of usuability, but it IS doable with very interesting results. F8 aids in hand holding this camera without tripod. Very HANDY indeed! 🙂

Camera laid on three sheets of Architectural Vellum, on my FOBA Glass Sweep Table. A Broncolor Balloon underneath the vellum adds underlighting. A Broncolor Hazylight overlights from overhead. Broncolor Boxlite 40's left and right at 45 degrees, very close and adding nice highlights.
