Has there ever been a firmware upgrade for the Panasonic DMC-LC1, or is it in fact possible to do in the first place?

No, there never was a firmware update for the LC-1. It's a great camera.

The LC1 is a great camera. I owned one and have always regretted selling it. It certainly has its problems but it handles pretty well and the image quality was excellent at low ISO. I wish that they had given the option to turn off the noise reduction at the higher ISOs. I would rather have the noise than to lose the details from noise reduction.

The LC1 is the only digital camera I have used alot and enjoyed. It is a wonderful camera and produces excellent images....and it's fun to use. But, everytime I shoot with it I still question why, other than $$$, did Leica/Panasonic use an evf rather than an optical vf. I just dislike the crappy lil' tv in my LC1.
