Steve,
I've had kidney stones since I was 12 (now 41), they aren't fun at all. Last December I hit the motherload when one got stuck between my kidney and bladder, they had to crawl up in there and blast it out with a laser. Xrays showed 8 more so I also got lithotripsy...yeah! Drink lot's of fluids and take care.

Toradol is your friend!

BTW, my urologist's name is Dr. Winkle (serious!) 🙂

yeah well mine drives a ****yellow Lamborghini countach with the licence plate PP MD

oh and I had a internist named Posthumus and a ER doc named JOHN B QUICK and a dentist Dr Painless.... 😱

oh and 2 rotations ago I had a VERY hot female orthopedic resident named DR GREY 😀

Peter is right (I'm also an RN) That cranberry juice promotes production of calcium oxalate....the stuff MY stones were made of. First time it ever happened, I thought I had a strangulated bowel .... on the floor, writhing. Needed surgery just once, couple of years ago and no problems since.....the water is ideal, but I've researched and found lemonade is a good deterrent. Also stay away from spinach...bad bad....just Google calcium oxalate foods and see what you get. Contrary to what you might think, calcium intake itself is important as the oxalate binds with it.
Mine felt like I passed a Nikon....glad I wasnt into medium format back then!

Good Luck and have a couple glasses of water on me! Feel Better. Rob 🙂
