Do you ever have that feeling it wasn't meant to be?

Ouch, that's a rough one, John!

Anyway, I can't count how many times at work I've got out to shoot with a 20d and no memory card.

This doesn't have anything to do with screwing up the film, but talk about feeling unworthy...

A year ago, I was walking around near Georgetown University in Washington, D.C. when I saw a bus stopping at a corner, and fire start dripping out the back. Literally dripping. Then the fire got bigger, and about fifteen people went running off the front of the bus. Then the fire got even bigger, burning up the engine compartment and the back of the bus, big gouts of black smoke going up in the air with flames. Then the fire department came and sprayed the whole thing with foam, until the fire was out.

Then I noticed I had my camera in my hand.

that's nothing...my story is so unbelievable you will accuse me of making it up.

years ago i worked saturdays at the local pro camera shop. every saturday started the same, we came in and cleaned up a bit, re-stocked shelves etc. we did this for about 30 minutes before the store opened. in was a warm sunny morning. one of the guys yelled that there was a strange site directly across the street. strange indeed.
across the street was a very tall man, looked to be 7 feet if he was an inch. he was walking very slowly but steady down the street. he was completely naked, completely. we all stopped and stared speechless for a moment and then started talking about how unreal this all was. as the very tall naked man reached the end of the block we all realized that we had a few dozen cameras at hand, hundreds of roll of film and not one of us thought to take a photo!!

total truth!

The thought of bunch of guys.. taking pictures of a nakid man... eh I'm glad none of you did it.. 😎

And there I was too busy being a perv (along with the other 6 guys) when the most stunning girl walked into the friend's shop I was hanging out in, I didn't get a photo but the surveillance tape shows the cam mysteriously trailing her through the shop.

I've missed more opportunities simply by not bringin my camera along, which is why I always carry it now. Unfortunately it's a big struggle to get it out of its pouch in my bag in time!!
