The title pretty much says it. Just $62.98 a roll. Check it out. Who says Neopan 1600 is dead? OK they also have it for around $12.00 a roll. I really miss the stuff, but I haven't quite worked up to those prices.

Only one 135-36 left for that nice Fuji Neopan 1600. Very nice film around iso 800-1000. But it's a high speed film so not very suitable to put in the freezer for a very long time.
I will have to find something else for it. 🙂

Robert, maybe your good friends at Foma could produce a nice 800 ASA film. That could fill the gap in the market between 400 and 3200 speed films.

I emailed Fuji to suggest they resume making Neopan 1600. Maybe some emails from others would help convince them.

I am also thinking that if there isn't enough demand to produce it continuously, maybe they could run a batch once or twice a year. Sort of like a brewery that runs a batch of dark beer in the fall. I know some will say this is too hard to do. But I bet they could do it. They can charge $9.00 a roll and it would be OK with me.

Wow. I remember giving a few rolls of this away before it was discontinued, because I rarely worked at high ISOs. This is just insane though.

Robert, maybe your good friends at Foma could produce a nice 800 ASA film.

Foma does not have the technology for a real high speed film. In the past they had the Fomapan T800, discontinued in 2001 due to a lack of interest. This film was iso 640 and grainy like a D3200.

I did my first try of available light photography with Neopan 1600 at the last months. I like the film both at 1600 and 3200.
Unfortunately I only bought 4 rolls of it. 😱

Now I have one roll of Tri-X at 1600 in the camera and I already have some rolls of Delta 3200 as my new high speed b&w film.

I still have a bunch of neopan 1600 in the freezer, but I guess that when that's gone, it's gone. Bit of a pity, I suppose, as the speed certainly comes in handy during the dark half of the year.

Kodak prevented Foma from selling film called "T" in the US because it is a Kodak trademark associated with the "T grain" technology. They did not take legal action for patent infringement. The 800 speed Foma film used similar technology to the 200 speed film that is still in production. Sales of T800 were small, and Foma discontinued the product.

My email was to suggest they reinstate the film. They didn't even acknowledge my suggestion. They acted as if I didn't know it was discontinued, and was asking for a dealer.
