Dee,
You are the greatest! You always make me laugh.
Thank you.
I am happy to not have the RED DOT, but in the beginning of my Leica lust I wanted to have one.
Now I would just cover it up, so as not to be taken as a show-off, but that is just me, and I am certainly not trying to promote my way of thinking/feeling.

I think a red dot is appropriate for ex-USSR cameras - didn't anyone tell Leica ?

I love it. Few people I know notice or care. But I do.

Do I like the red dot? Yes as long as it's on a camera....

howabout an eyeball? a tiny, realistic looking eyeball. Maybe made of glass. Now THAT would be cool.

I gathered a lot more attention with SLRs and long lenses than with the Noct. Its not much bigger than todays average kit zoom I think, right?

I have to say now that I have one I really like the black dot. It makes the camera look extra stealthy...

I only take my tape off the red dot when im wearing my matching red leather shoes and the belt with the big red buckle and the nice (insert niche designer here) shirt with the red buttons.
Then it's some fly stylin

It's much like the red stripe on Nikons: 'styling' for no reason. One of the great charms of a Leica is that there's very little overt 'styling': it's more just functionalism.
