Canon LTM Do You Recommend SoftRelease Button?

Canon M39 M39 screw mount bodies/lenses
Yeah, I was thinking about the gun parallels myself. More in the modified/decorative side of things i.e. just like those guys who put fancy grips, sights, lasers etc... on their guns, it's a bit the same how you can personalise/change the looks of your camera with different straps, lens hoods, soft air releases etc....

The gun parallel is a good one and while I never cared for a trigger shoe on any handgun or rifle I really like a soft release on some cameras. It keeps my big fat pudgy fingers from contacting other parts of the camera while releasing the shutter. This is a problem for me with cameras that have the release towards the back of the camera rather than the front and invariably surrounded by dials of some sort. I home brewed one for my screw mount Leicas because of this. If your finger contacts another part of the camera during releasing the shutter it can impart unwanted movement during the exposure. It may also have the benefit of decreasing the amount of effort needed to release the shutter by spreading the effort over a larger area. Their use is a personal thing and can give rise to accidental releases. As Bill suggested, use BRASS and you will be ahead of the game. I try and use both.
