Do you take a camera everywhere?

the new Nikon d3100 dslr is very small and light compared to the rest of the slr bunch. Never leave home without it . I only take the film camera out when on a photo hunt mission.

The standard advice for any keen photographer is to always carry a camera. I'm amazed so many of you actually follow this good advice. In my experience following good advice is not what people do. I thought most of you would be like me and know the advice but not follow it. I've lost count how many times over the course of a 48 year interest in photography I could have taken the killer photograph if only I had a camera. It's a standing joke with my wife who never fails to give me the withering look every time it happens. I feel a New Year Resolution coming on.

I always try to carry a camera with me. Sometimes, even my smallest cameras (Olympus E-P1, Contax T) are inconvinient to carry along, especially in summertime. But whenever I carry a bag, I also carry a camera.

yes now .... Sony RX100

yes now .... Sony RX100

Until I got my Sony RX100 I could not be bothered as nothing gave me IQ that I was happy with.

Film just was never really an option for me as it's too much work for my "grab" shots with a very low keeper rate.

Yes, always. Usually a small A&A bag with a film rangefinder or two, extra film and lenses, and a couple of small flashguns. Most days, I use them.

yes- always have one, even if it is locked in the car, since my office has a "security policy of no cameras on property" - as if trade secrets of our software can be had by taking a snap shot of the building or landscaping or co-workers.(*dumb but i dont make the rules)
camera is there in case -- such as a great night scene, stormy sky, or a car fire or such, on the way home.
usage - infrequently, but acts as insurance that i wont miss it (have captured things over the years) so it is there daily.

Always. Film and digital. Rangefinders, D/SLR's And anything "new" that comes my way gets a ride in the car for a familiarization tour.

Been hauling around a new to me Yashica Mat 124G lately and loving it!

I've been hoping to ascend to the level you guys are at. I hardly ever carry a camera around because the ones I own are too big. I tried with the X100 recently as a 'carry-everywhere' but didn't like it. Then came the X10 but I gave it away. Up next is the M8, so I'm praying for 'third time lucky'.

They say the best camera in the world is the one you have on you at the time. I try and have a good one on me all the time! There are times it's impractical, but most of the time I'll have my Zorki 1 on me 'cos it's not too big or heavy to leave on my shoulder and forget about, unlike my beastie of a D5000.

yes -allway have a camera with me- not allway fim not allways digital just what´s in my mind and mood.
Sometimes just a Kodak C613 somatimes a big SLR or mit trusted Nikon D70, but there is allways a cam with me.

At least a Canon S100 as true-pocketable without bag. If bag allowed the X100 is minimum equipment
