assuming you already have 15/21/28/35 manual lenses and like to MF?

Do you mean the pancake or the zoom? I purchased the zoom for casual video shooting, and I bring it to parties and such so that other people an use it too. Just the other day I used the kit zoom with the Nex 5 at iso 6400, here is the result with some contrast boost and digi-grain.

I have the 16mm, 18-55mm and an M mount adapter. I will use the zoom for fun stuff, family, kids, some events. At present my primes are the NEX 16 (24), CV 35 (52) and a Elmarit 90 (135) All this and the zoom fit so nicely and light in my A &A bag.

I bought the NEX5 with the 16mm lens that I use for for snaps at parties. I have an M adapter as well as an F-mount adapter that allows use of G lenses (yes, I can control the aperture of the lens via the adapter).
While being able to use my M mount lenses (21,35,50,75) are great, using the NEX5 with F adapter is especially fun with zoom lenses.

F mount is on the way.
Yes. The kit zoom is a very good lens, some distortion but that's easy to fix, and nice bokeh. Not bad at all for a kit.
Need to get a Nikon adapter to use a 50/1.2 AIS. Also planning a 24/2.8 AIS.

thanks all, great photo Jingles! I was always thinking that if I somehow ended up with both the 16mm and the kit zoom, I'd immediately sell the kit zoom, but looks like it can take some nice photos.
I also hope to get an F adapter to NEX, but I have a little time, not having a NEX yet ...

I think you can get better quality from adapted lenses, but the 28-55 is not bad! I think it's a good lens. I have to pixel peep pretty hard to see a difference.
