Do you use two of the same bodies?

For personal use I often carried two once I got a 2nd body that took the same M42 lenses. I thought it prudent to have a body for backup. I started out with a Yashica TL Super, then acquired a Fujica ST 901.

I also used those two for crime scene photos. Especially the Fujica. The aperture priority with a tripod worked well for me for low light or closeups.

Yashinon and Fujinon lenses were quite good so I never worried about wishing I had any different bodies or different lens lines.

I have two each of several model cameras, but I never carry more than one single camera.
That would make it too much like work. If the camera fails I can find something else to do.

If I shoot with two cameras I prefer to carry two of the same and use both not one as a back up. I might carry two Minilux or Rolleiflex whatever with different films or two Leicas with different lenses.

Very interesting to hear this. Not surprised about the knobs. My first, early X100 had a hair trigger exposure compensation dial. The shutter speed dial then packed up and I got a new one with good dials and I still use that one. I can see the advantage of cameras X100 size in a war zone. Even for amateurs compactness is important. Skiing with the risk of falls I use a very small camera - too many broken ribs from various things in my time. The chance another big Nikon was going to stop a bullet like with Don McCullin is not high you must have figured.

I have plate armour and a Kevlar helmet that I rely on for stopping bullets 🙂

When out on leisurely strolls I am of a similar mind. In fact ‘will it fit in my pants pocket’ is my primary selection process.
