Do You Use "User Profiles" on your Monochrom?

I only have a 246, maybe the other cameras are different. But: does anyone use them? Even if you have the DNG? The amount of documentation or information about usage is vanishingly small, like: none that I've ever found beyond the original user manual.

At least on my copy of Camera Raw, the "use camera settings" default doesn't seem to have any effect on Monochrom files, either. Same profile and curve every time. Which makes me think maybe I'm missing something?

I don't usually use profiles, every image is different so I just make my own adjustments.

Yeah, same here. I'm hoping there is someone who does productively use profiles that might give me (all of us?) some new ideas?

I'm sure no help. I just looked at the 246 menu options with profiles in mind, and I can't see how I would use them. Guess I'm a one-profile guy. I'm curious if others use them and how.
