Hi, I wonder if someone can advise me. I have picked this Kiev 4 and the film advance knob is loose and its difficult to see which shutter speed has been chosen. Also, after pressing the shutter button, the film cannot be advanced without a little pressure on the shutter button, Are there many mysteries under the shutter/film advance knob? I thought I would remove the 2 screws and have a look, but maybe someone out there has already done that. Any advice will be appreciated. Pity, its a lovely looking Kiev in great condition. Cheers from Oz

Its the Kiev survival site, some time ago a few of us demented souls spent a lot of time with the Kiev. Should be lots of posts re same if you look back. Not for the faint of heart to pull apart a Kiev, but the site maybe of interest.
Lotsa luck

Thanks for that ron - getting to the shutter knob bezel is what I need to do...that is where the problem is, I think-sloppy movement in shutter knob. I always advance shutter before choosing speed but I have read opinions to the opposite.
