Not only will you not be able to focus to infinity, you won't be able to focus past about 24 inches. Considering the close focus of the lens is just under 1 meter and the optical group only moves about 1cm from infinity to close focus, moving the lens out another 12mm will only allow for scale "focus" aka pure guessing in this close range. Also be aware that the DOF is critical up close and you won't be able to see your zone or point of focus at all.
You'd need a visoflex and bellows to see what is in the frame.
If you have an SLR, just stick the lens up to the open camera and look through. You'll see what I mean. DOF is paper thin and that lens isn't optimized for close-up work anyway. You'd be better off adapting a 55mm f/3.5 Nikkor Macro to this camera. It at least has focus scales and is a better flat-field lens for macro work.
