I read here somewhere that there is an archived version of the fzorki site, i have tried a search but it doesnt seem to work, does anyone have a link to it
Many thanks
Nathan

fzorki (geocities.com/fzorkis) was a great site by Jim Blazik dedicated to Zorkis and FEDs and especially rebuilding and painting those cameras with beautiful pictures that caused bad GAS attacks 🙂 I think it was banned because the GAS attacks were driving some people mad 😀

Now really, I've no idea why it disappeared, but I'm happy that I have saved a large part of it to my harddisk. You can still find texts at archive.org, but no images, and that's bad because the pictures were just soo tasty...

EDIT: it isn't even at archive.org anymore...

PS: I wanted to post pdf files of the site here, but wise people said it would be violation of copyright laws...

I seem to recall that it is gone because he had a gallery of repainted Soviet cameras online, and he was getting fed up with people bombarding him with e-mails about whether he would repaint their camera for them when the site clearly stated that he wouldn't.

If it was so that he guided to recolour your Fed or Zorki why cant anyone with the know how do that here? It would be a great audition for this site. Im a bit interested in to repaint the trims on my Zorki but without the information im stuck.

I think it was more a problem with geocities rather than the site itself. There are quite a lot of photo related sites that were on Geocities but are no longer available such as Fujica one.

That would depend on who created the original information, and when. If it is 50+ years old, you might get away with it, but if it was created recently by the fzorki site, not so easy.....
