Does it make sense to go MF or M9?

Mostly agreed with Eric T and flip.

For color photography, Fuji-X and/or MF RF such as Mamiya 7 should be a great choice. I don't really see any benefit using Leica 35mm lens on X. Fuji lens is better than Leicas on the fuji APS sensor.

As flip said, I don't see any benefit shooting slide film today. Mamiya 7 is probably by far the best RF in terms of IQ, but it is not compact nor light as a 35mm RF, which may not be suitable for some situation. V700 is an acceptable choice for the MF negative films, if used with Silverfast.

I'm biased, I like film.
Me too. Nothing beats it for B&W. I use a Rolleiflex for MF and Leicas for 35mm film. I haven't bought a Leica digital yet though as color is <5% of what I do. I use my Leica glass on a NEX-7 and so far it has worked out well. Good luck with the Mamiya you'll be amazed with what you get from the negatives.

Have you looked at the canon M series (equivalent to NEX) I was thinking of taking that as a lightweight option on a Grand Canyon hike with my l series glass, but I don't know how good it is with the cropped sensor and all.

Does Leica glass go on a canon mount too? Or just NEX?

Does the NEX need an adapter for lenses made for full frame the way the canon m does?

I know it's an RF forum but I had to ask since you mentioned using it.

Have not looked at the Canon M series. My choice was NEX-7/Fuji X-1Pro. The NEX replaced a Fuji S5 Pro dSLR that I loved.

I don't believe Leica M glass mounts onto a Canon body. Virtually any kind of legacy glass will go on a NEX. Those that say there's no glass for the NEX are either missing the point or don't/won't use manual focus lenses.

The NEX requires an adapter for all non-Alpha E-mount lenses (i.e. the native mount).

Thanks :) I know all lenses fit on the normal full frame canon mount with adapters, just like for the NEX, but canon LENSES won't fit on ANYTHING ELSE lol. Canon fail...

Kk thanks!

Canon lenses will go on the NEX but would need to be manually focused. There's work on an adapter that will allow an auto-focus dSLR lens to work but I think it may be for Nikon lenses. Not sure though as I only have Leica and Exakta lenses myself.
