The Leica magnifier will not fit the R-D1, the Leica eyepiece diameter is smaller than that of the R-D1.
AFAIK the only magnifier which fits the R-D1 is this one: http://www.unicircuits.com/shop/product_info.php?cPath=22&products_id=112

Several people on this board have had magnifiers shipped to the US without any problems, as fast as 3 days in some cases. Mine was about 4 days to the UK. All communication with Dirk at Megapearls (dirk@unicircuits.com) is in english with no difficulty at all. I used their online ordering system and PayPal when I purchased mine.
