Does my Leica M6 need a CLA?

Is it my imagination or are there horizontal lines running across my first photo (img124.jpg)?

Also notice the black vertical bar on the right side of the 2nd photo (img133.jpg)? It looks like the shutter did not fire properly and this appeared on 3 other photos out of two rolls.

Can someone who is knowledgeable of these issues or have similar problems provide me some insight as to the cause of this and whether or not the issues indicate that I need a CLA?

1) The M6 doesn't have a digital sensor so lines on the image have nothing to do with the camera. If you do see something, it probably is faint scratches on the negative.

2) It looks like you scanned a print. It looks like the automated machine at the photo printer misaligned your negative when they printed it, hence, the black bar.

Check your negatives. Are the lines you see on the prints also appearing on the negs? (I don't know which, but there are alot of telephone lines in your pic! 🙂). The lines you are seeing might be scratches on the film.

The black bar on the left side could be lazy printing, something my local drug store does famously. Again, check your negs.

good luck!

Thanks for the responses, to clarify, the first picture is a scan of the negative and the second one is a scan of a print. I was out testing a new lens, so I was just shooting for the sake of shooting.

M. Valdemar, you're right, the black bar does not appear on the negatives. I freaked out and forgot to check the negatives.

As far as the lines on the negative (1st pick), I can't tell if there are lines there or my mind is playing tricks on me that's why I posted the photos. I keep seeing straight horizontal lines across the image, so I don't think it's the power lines 🙂

Maybe I'm just being paranoid 😱
