Does the Leica flip polarizer work on the R-D1?

All,
I was looking to get a polarizer for my R-D1 and saw the Leica version for 357 dollars. I was astounded until I read that it has a little flip function so that you can see the effect in the viewfinder. Can anybody give me an opnioun on this? Does it work? Is it worth the money?

drigget, i have one and it works fine. it comes with two filter thread attachements to which the polirizer attaches. between the two, they cover my three lenses..all leica f2, 28,35, and 50. it does not cover the whole framelines on the fifty mm, but covers enough that it is usable..about 2/3.

its very nicely made, and obviously i thought it was worth the money.

I have the polarizer. It works just fine on an M6.

I don't have an RD-1 (yet???) so I have no direct experience with that camera.

However, since the laws of optics don't care about the sensor (CCD, or film), it should work just fine with the RD-1.

Is it worth the money - no, but it is really the only reasonable option for an RF polarizer.

The alternative is to hand hold a second polarizer, and rotate it while looking through it until you achieve the desired effect, and then matching the index mark with the lens mounted filter. To me this is a totally unworkable alternative!

will the M6 polorizer fit the R-D1? I have 2 M6 systems but neverf thought of it..
