It was 2010 and we were in Bretagne. A sunny summer day was going to the end and the sun was enlightening us... and then our daughter wanted to sing to the sun. She had a lollipops in her right hand and it seemed she thought it was a microphone...

That day morning she had a bad day and when we were walking she decided to stop, she was very angry. I looked at her and she challenged me with her look. I didn't think about it, I made the portrait.

Brilliant - 🤩 think a few of us have seen and felt that look over the years! That day morning she had a bad day and when we were walking she decided to stop, she was very angry. I looked at her and she challenged me with her look. I didn't think about it, I made the portrait.

It was summer of 2020 and we were in a camping (bungalow). I was reading and I saw them to look in the mirror, they were looking for hair in their armpits... I smiled, it was the first time I saw them in this way... "they are growing" I thought. I took my camera and made the picture. I love these little and beautiful moments.

It was summer of 2020 (COVID first year) and sometimes our son liked to be in our garden when the sun was going down. It used to be a moment for talk... and to look at the near future with questions in our minds, sometimes in silence. Here you have one of these moments.

That son of yours has a force in him. It will be very interesting to see what he goes on to do in his life, or more importantly, just who he becomes. His continuing good self most likely. Your text with this one reminds me of Tolstoy, seriously. There are pages of War and Peace where he dissects moments of real life with such fine grain. He was a medium format sort of writer, to continue the photographic analogy.

Hi Richard, he has a great energy inside him... energy is good if you make it flows properly, and this is his challenge... and yes, I wonder also, just who he becomes...
...a little smile.
I think these are the thoughts that all fathers have about our sons and daughters.
...and maybe it has come the time to read "War and Peace" of Tolstoy. Thanks!

The day was dying, but as it was a summer sunny day, we were in the beach. She was playing with the wind, this wind that wakes up when the sun is going down... it seemed she was thinking that she was flying, and the towel was/were her wings... I took the camera and then she looked at me...

When I have seen this picture again (I made it more than 10 years ago) I have smiled.
He was 4 and 1/2 years old and the surfboard was bigger than him... but it didn't matter for him, he wanted to surf and it was what he was going to do!

So, my question is, did he intend to be so far above the board?

I don't know if I'm understanding well your question, so I will write what was he doing:So, my question is, did he intend to be so far above the board?
He was playing with the waves, because the waves weren't too big. So he decided to go "against" the waves and jump to the sea, like a dolphin...
When I saw what was going to do I went to the sand and took my camera (Zeiss Ikon ZM)... forst time I look at him to know what was going to do exactly, the second time I went to the place I thought he was going to pass... and he told me: "Daddy!! I will jump again! If you are there, I will spalsh your camera!" But I said I was going to be very careful, so he came and jump! And I made the picture. Some time later, when he saw the picture he loved it... today he has said: "When I was jumping like a dolphin!!".

A great story Shab. You are keeping these precious memories alive and sharing them with us all too.
Lovely to hear of another Zeiss Ikon ZM user too - I still have one and it remains a great camera.
