Domke self knock-off?

Maybe just a thread cutter? I always stole one from my mom's sewing kit when I removed unwanted tags.

What - just 2% !!!

What - just 2% !!!

I just got one of these, how does one take the tamron/domke label off completely? I can see that using scissors at the edge will get 98% of it off, but I'd like the label completely off if possible. The strap is way funky, but the bag itself is very nice once that tamron/domke thing can come off.

I'd pull one end of the label tight and cut with a sharp model knife or similar blade, as near to the seam as possible. And then repeat at the other end ....... but - hmmm what only 98% - surely it's not that important ????

huh?

huh?

That would require cutting about 24 stitches out, who's going to sew it back up??

I don't have one of these bags sitting in front of me, so how am I supposed to know about those stiches? Guess you'll have to live with only 98% removed...

Seriously, Ted, don't sweat it. You've seen mine. Did you notice the 2% left after I had cut off the 98%? Nope, I didn't think so. Just cut the tag as close to the ends as you can and, like I said, don't sweat the rest. It'll look fine and no one will notice the last 2%. It's kinda like when you do a home repair - only you notice the very slight imperfections even though they're glaringly obvious to you.

And great bag, huh? 🙂

Hi Randy

Hi Randy

No, I didn't notice your stubs at all. I guess I'm approaching these like T-shirt tags (before they started making tagless ones) where if you don't remove the entire label, it can still itch and scratch so I always just rip the whole labels out, hoping that the stitching is stronger than the tag.

It is a great bag, especially compared to the flimsy Tamron/Adorama/amazon ones I just got. I'm still going to think about how to get that whole label out cleanly (lasers?!). But may end up just cutting as close as I can.
