This isn't a guy I'm familiar with but there is a retrospective of his work in Manchester, UK and this slideshow on the BBC website, some extremely powerful images. Posting here because he talks in the slideshow of what it means to him to be/have been a war photographer.

Oh and for us rangefinderistas, a very field-modified Nikon F towards the end

Thanks for sharing. I had the opportunity to see some of his work recently. There was also a room with some of his more recent work: still-lifes and landscapes.

Burrows vs McCullin
Compare the McCullin piece with this:

Both were in somewhat the same situations, both Brits, but different senses of vision.
Burrows, however, did not get the chance to grow old.

Don McCullin is one of my very favorites. Maybe the albino child stared at him and came to hold his hand because Don had light skin like the child's? I know I'll always remember that child ever since I saw that picture years ago. You should go to the show!

I saw a show of his work at the IWMN last year.
I presume this latest show is a little different.
Living close to Manchester, I may organise a little RFF trip out to it if people fancy having a look and a chat.
Bob.

Thanks for the information. Very strong captures. Especially the Vietnamese man and the shell shocked soldier.
