Im glad this sort of thing is happening. My at my old school it took my old teacher many years to set up film photography from donations at the school and his work was almost ruined when he was replaced by a new teacher who didnt even know how to develop film.
From that point whenever I shot film It was met with a huge amount of negativity until they simply stopped buying paper and chemicals as "it is a waste of time and money." Its really a shame because the school had some amazing facilities (print processing machines and a leica V35.) When running my photography club for younger years I tried teaching film and it got shut down straight away.
Ever since then I insist on using my own materials at college simply because im scared of reaching the pint where im wasting materials. If only something like that had happened in my area.
